So I do a lot of perusing Amazon.com and end up finding stuff I didn't know existed that would have been helpful at some time in my life. Tools, and cookware and other stuff like that. So I thought I'd keep an ongoing thread to keep track of it all and to share. A capitalist undercurrent to the other minutia I muse on here.
A Caveat: Most of this stuff I haven't bought yet (though I plan to) and I'll note it if I have bought it.
That having been said: Useful Thing I Should Probably Own #1!
So these are straps that loop onto your forearms for moving heavy or awkwardly bulky furniture. They keep heavy stuff close to the ground, so you don't have to lift things as high, and the low center of gravity would be useful for top-heavy items as well as you can use your hands to stabilize the top end. If I had these when I bought my bedroom set, my dresser wouldn't be scarred on the front from when it tipped.
I imagine that this would make it easier for Reina to help when we move heavy stuff too because, though she's very athletic and always helpful when moving, her 5' 2" doesn't let her get the leverage I can get. Combine this with a good pair of utility gloves and I think I'd be all set to move just about anything. Looks pretty rad.
