How to Get a Free Meal

So Reina and I went to Acapulco last night, for some tasty Si! food. No, really, that's the name of their seafood selection. The Si! Food menu. I know. Anyway, we went last night because Monday nights are $2.25 Magarita nights. Like all classy Mexican restaurants, they gave us free chips and salsa when we sat down. After a little bit, we'd worked our way through the basket and asked Jennifer the Waitress to bring us more salsa and chips. She happily obliged by first putting the chip basket down, then cheerfully putting my salsa dish down, then not-so-cheerfully dropping Reina's salsa dish onto the table.

At first I stared at the nearly empty dish on the table. Then I looked up to see Reina's shirt splashed with salsa, to which I felt compelled to comment.

"It's on your shirt!"

Reina did not respond.

I then looked up to see salsa all over her face, splashed across from forehead down to chin.

Again, I felt compelled to comment.

"Oh whoa! It's in your eye!"
*pause*
"I know!" Reina then exclaimed.

When your girlfriend gets salsa splashed in her eye, I thought, you must spring into action.

I stood up, looked around, sat back down, looked around again, looked down, then handed her my napkin. The waitress had already exclaimed "oh my god!" and run off to get more napkins. In my most concerned voice, I then said "Geez, I bet that stings. .. Does it sting?"

Next time, I will have a monologue ready. I will hand over my napkin, then say "Hang on, honey, I'm going to get you some napkins and an eye-wash." I will take action!

On the plus side, we got our meal comp'd for us. Including the margaritas! All 3 of them (I was already on my second)! Two Si Food dishes and 3 margaritas. Probably $40 worth of food. Way to take one for the team, honey. That's how we get it done.
