Playoffs, what Playoffs?

Lakers just beat the Suns (not too big a surprise, the Suns only had 9 guys available, and one of them wasn't MVP candidate Nash). At the end of the game, every time the Lakers made a defensive stop, the crowd went wild. Heavy HEAVY cheering. Offensive rebound followed by raucous roars to the rafters. Phoenix ball, nothing but big boos. Every steal, every block, crazy screaming. And that's weird because you hardly ever hear cheering for defense. And never when a team is up significantly, and the lakers were up by 20, so why did the fans there care? I mean ... I'm a pretty big fan and while I was pleased for the win, I wasn't scream-at-the-top-of-my-lungs excited. And these fans were chanting up a storm.

Maybe they were excited because the Lakers just clinched a playoff berth.

And then the audio gets clearer: "WE WANT TACOS! WE WANT TACOS!"

Apparently, Taco Bell had a promotion of free tacos for everyone in the audience if the Lakers held the Suns under 90 points.

The score? 109-89.

Ah Basketball. Yo Quiero Playoffs.
